We had a blast at Francois and Karola’s wedding on the Zonnewald Farm just outside Stampriet in Namibia! We LOVE destination weddings!
The festivities started the night before with a tradition to the Germans ( Karola’s Family) called Polterabend. Literally meaning “eve of making a racket”
It involves friends and family coming together to smash a bunch of porcelain for good luck. Once all the dish-smashing has reached its conclusion the bride and groom
are given the enviable honour of cleaning up the mess, as a symbol of how they will need to work together for the rest of their lives. It was brutal! Just when you think that is it,
another guest or family member brings another load and smashes it! Lol,so much fun!
The next morning we were awaken by the Kalahari dessert sunrise….simply magnificent! We knew it was going to be a glorious day!
Both Francois and Karola’s are professional shooting champions, and they incorporated that with their decor. Well done with doing it in such a stylish way!
Congratulations guys and God bless!
